captaincassidy HTTYD has pretty good media outside it's trilogy, including two cartoons (DreamWorks Dragons and DreamWorks Dragons: Race to the Edge) and one other holiday special (DreamWorks Dragons: Gift of the Night Fury), so I had relatively high hopes for How to Train Your Dragon: Homecoming (HTTYD:H). Around eight or so minutes of footage from the special was already on YouTube in the form of teasers and trailers, and while I certainly took issue with several things, overall I hoped for something that would contribute to the HTTYD canon in a meaningful way, as the other media had.
I'm sad to report that after watching it, I can't say that it does. Spoilers below the cut!
